After you click the download link, you will be prompted with a window similar to this:

It is easiest to click the "Run" button, or you can also save it to a location where you will be able to find it easily (like your desktop).

When you go to run the setup program, you may also see the following security warning:

You must choose "Run" in order to continue with the setup process.

The setup program will now run, and you can simply follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing AddMyFriends.

  2. Getting Started

First off, you need to have a MySpace account. If you don't already have a MySpace account, you probably wouldn't be here though.

Now open up the AddMyFriends application, and you will be prompted with the following login window. This information is your MySpace login information. AddMyFriends uses this information to log you in and keep you logged in while using the software.

Then click the "Load Profile" button, and you will be taken to the next screen to Collect Friend Ids

  3. Collecting Friend IDs

You can collect Friend IDs from nearly any page on MySpace.

There are three basic ways to collect Friend IDs. You can collect them from 1 page at a time using radio button "Only this page". You can have the software automatically collect all of the Friend IDs from all of the pages you go to (this works automatically as you browse MySpace) using "Scan pages as I browse". If you are at a page such as browsing for friends, viewing a friend's friends, or browsing top artists, (any page that has the Next > link at the bottom of it) you can use "Automatically scan pages 2,3,4.." and this will automatically navigate through the pages collecting Friend IDs for you.

We will give a few examples to get you started.

To collect Friend IDs from a specific demographic, click on the browse link once you login to MySpace using AddMyFriends.

As you can see from the screen shot above, there are several options to choose. Select your options for the demographics you are looking for, and click "Update"

After you are at the search results page, you can begin collecting Friend Id's. Select the "Automatically scan pages 2,3,4..." radio button, and then press the "Scan page(s) for Friend IDs" button. This will automatically browse through the search results, collecting Friend Ids until it reaches the end, or you hit "Stop".

If you wish to add all of someone else's friends, you can go to their MySpace profile and click the "View all of username's Friends" link. Select the "Automatically scan pages 2,3,4..." radio button, and then press the "Scan page(s) for Friend IDs" button. This will automatically browse through the search results, collecting Friend Ids until it reaches the end, or you hit "Stop".

Experiment around, there are Friend ID's everywhere! If you have any problems collecting Friend ID's, try to lower the bot speed.

  4. Sending Friend Requests

First, make sure you have already collected some Friend IDs.

Now click on the tab that says "Send Add Friend Requests" at the top of the application.

Set the number of Friend Requests to send. 50 is a good number to start off with.

If you try to add more than 50 you will need to manually enter in CAPTCHA codes after about 50 requests.

If you have any problems sending friend requests, try to lower the bot speed.

  5. Posting Comments Instructions (AddMyFriends Suite 2 only)

First click on the "Post comments to friends profiles" tab at the top of the application.

Now click on the "Update My Friends" button to collect the IDs of your MySpace Friends. If some or all of the IDs aren't collected, you will need to reduce the bot speed.

Type in the number of comments you wish to post. Currently you can only send 50 without manually entering CAPTCHA codes.

Now type the comment you wish to post. You can have an HTML comment, and a plain text comment. If you are not using html in your comment, put your plain text comment in both text boxes.

If you want to skip profiles that don't allow HTML, you can click on the skip checkbox.

Click on the "Post Comments" button to get started. If you have any problems, you may need to reduce the bot speed. The program will finish when the set number of requests has been sent, you run out of friends to post to, or you click the "Stop" button.

  6. Sending Messages (AddMyFriends Suite 2 only)

First click on the "Send Message to Friends" tab at the top of the application.

If you haven't recently updated your friends (from this tab or the previous) then click on the "Update My Friends" button to collect the IDs of your MySpace Friends. If some or all of the IDs aren't collected, you will need to reduce the bot speed.

Type in the number of messages you want to send.

Now type your Subject and Message text. The message text can contain HTML.

WARNING: If you send out messages that some users will regard as spam, they may click on the "Flag as spam" link. If several users do this, this could put your account under investigation by MySpace. Please use this feature with caution.

Click the "Send message to friends" button to begin sending messages.
